We will break for a two hour alfresco lunch every day, on location or in the gardens of Salvayou. Participants can also choose to relax after the days painting by sititng at Salvayou, swimming in the pool, or strolling around the surrounding countryside or the sites we are visiting.
Still ... It Is Not All Work, and NO Play
We have planned painting excursions which include some sightseeing. We will visit Font De Gaume, the only cave where you can still see the prehistoric paintings "live", have a wine tasting in Le Bugue, and meander through the market of St. Cyprien.
Several afternoons, over wine and cheese, the group will discuss the work done that day. On other evenings, slide shows will be presented after dinner at Salvayou to reinforce the thematic content and provide a historical background for the painting excursions.
As a bonus, being it that the region is famous for its food and wine, all lunches are prepared with regional delicacies. In addition, two delicious home cooked group meals and one gourmet 6 course dinner prepared by a famous local chef will be part of the course. Wine is included with every meal.
The lodgings are at a bed and breakfast with en suite bathrooms in the nearby town of Le Buisson at www.un-angepasse.com. Transportation to and from the lodgings and to the excursions is included.
Courses are designed so the group is picked up at Stanstead airport in London and brought to the hotel on Saturday. They will then run through to Friday evening, with guests departing on Saturday (7 nights’ accommodation/6 days’ tuition).
